It’s Talk to me Tuesday, and this week we are talking about all things TAN!

Everything is better bronzed, and bodies are no exception. Temporary tans are infamous for their ability to camouflage body imperfections, and accentuate your body’s best assets. If you have no idea what I’m talking about but still want the tea on tans - this is a blog you won’t want to miss!
Let’s head over to the Bronze Bar and chat about everything from the tan-tails to the tab!
What is a spray tan?
The active ingredient DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) is derived from sugar cane, and it causes a natural reaction on the top layer of your skin. This reaction naturally produces a beautiful tan without damaging the skin. DHA Tanning solutions were approved by the FDA in the 1970’s and have been refined overtime to produce better bronzing results.
The benefits of bronzing
FDA approved, and recommended by The American Cancer Society as the only safe way to tan; sunless solutions allow you to enjoy all the rewards that being bronze will bring with none of the risks!
Not only will you be bronze but some solutions include active natural ingredients that provide benefits beyond the bronze. These natural additives might hydrate the skin, promote collagen production, or even infuse our formulas with properties that can alleviate skin conditions or provide pain relief!

Who should tan
EVERY BODY IS BETTER BRONZED! -Read that again out loud-There is no complexion or skin type that wouldn’t benefit from being bronzed! From the fairest of them all to the most beautiful black swan; a little luster goes a long way. Some of your favorite celebrities tan all the time but we are so used to seeing them bronze that we barely notice.
When to tan
It’s Tan O’clock somewhere so tan anytime! Some clients are bronze bombshells and they will get lit regardless of the occasion (or lack thereof); while others prefer to reserve their luxe libations for special occasions only, or when the season no longer permits natural tanning (for example fall and winter months). Tanning for photoshoots, and even pre-vacation tanning, is common and will ensure you arrive bronze, beautiful, and ready to GLOW!
Let’s talk about the tab
So how much should your tab be at these so-called "bronze bars" anyway?
As with most services in this industry you pay for product, time, skill, and location. This can vary greatly depending on your area and your bronze barista’s pour preference or product choice.

A typical tab at our bar is around $60. This can vary depending on rather or not you’d like to add treatment enhancements (aka “top shelf shots”) to your complexion cocktail that help boost your bronze, smooth out cellulite, or even lull you to sleep. Our most expensive spray is $128 and includes a trial spray for when all eyes are on you. If you prefer to be contoured contouring can start at $24 and go up to $48 for full body service.
That’s all the time we have for today dolls! *
*please note that Luxe Lair Esthetics does not currently offer body bronzing services. Services will resume winter 2025
